The Music of Michael Williamson
Mike Williamson has 40 years of experience as a Band Director. He has taught in Arizona, upstate New York, Long Island, New York. He retired as the Director of Bands at The College of William and Mary in 2005. Mike and his wife Judy, also a retired music teacher, live in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Compositions
Mike’s music has been performed by the New York University Concert Jazz Band, Christopher Newport University Jazz Ensemble, Reginald Chapman-Bass Trombonist, Connetquot High School Jazz Band, William and Mary Concert and Jazz bands, The Williamsburg Consort and several community bands throughout the country. Mike’s composition “Speaking of Frank” for jazz ensemble was played in a reading session by the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra.
Mike’s composition for jazz quintet “Caribbean Sunset” was recorded by the Todd Coolman Quintet on his CD “Perfect Strangers”. The recording can be accessed by going to Artistshare.com. “Caribbean Sunset” can also be downloaded from iTunes.
Mike’s composition “Expansions” was premiered at the world famous jazz nightclub “The Blue Note” by the New York University Concert Jazz Band.
Currently Mike is the Composer in Residence with the Williamsburg Consort.
